Hot stone massage is a unique technique because it incorporates the use of smooth, heated stones as part of the massage. The therapist may place the stones to warm up the muscles and to increase energy flow. They may also use the stones as an extension of their own hands. The heat allows the muscles to relax so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly.
